Sugaring for Hair Removal~Nina’s Technique

I love this recipe which I have used for a long while. Sugaring is a tried and true method of simple hair removal. Just as you may purchase hair removal wax, you can make your own hair removal product that only require sugar, lemon juice and water! For centuries, women have relied on this and similar methods. Sugaring is safe to use and is great for body and face. All hair textures seem to work well with this recipe. For best results, allow hair to be longer than a stubble…this will allow hair to be “grabbed” in the sugar. 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup water Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Bring down to a simmer once you have brought this to a boil. Adjust temperature as needed and continue stirring until mixture is a rich brown or amber color. Pour into freezer quality plactic containers or mason jars (run jar under hot tap water and dry before using to avoid cracking glass) Place lid on jar after product has cooled to room temperature or warm enough to handle. Any questions? Just send a message here or to my page. Thank you!!

    @markee871 Thank you for watching!
You’re absolutely correct, it’s the best, most effective method! I love it.♥

this is a method used today and a loong time ago by Arab women, its more effective then the wax with stips..it removes hair from roots!! and it makes skin shiny and glowing

if you don’t use it all the first time…can you use it again somehow after it has cooled down to room temperature? or will it get too hard and you have to reheat it?

Hello there totogirl0, thanks for watching my video! I’ve only really sugared, however, I do feel sugaring is far better than the waxing because of the chemicals, the dangers and the costs…but, the process of removing hair is just about the same process, but, the sugar, in my opinion is far safer and eco-friendly. I would try sugaring…the only thing you have to loose is hair. :0) LOL :0)
xoxo Thanks so much for stopping by, tell me what you think!! :0) take care, Nina

    Hey Nina!
I heard that sugaring works and lasts longer than waxing…is that true or is it practically the same thing?

    Peace xoxo

  8. redfootwalking says:

Hi there, you can use brown sugar, but the cooking times will vary and also, make sure to pack the sugar well in the measuring up. :0) take care and thanks! Nina

Hi there, you’ll have to make sure to allow the sugar to comes to a boil and when it begins to foam on top, bring the heat down just long enough to slow down the boiling. Bring up to a boil again and repeat this process until the sugar browns…the bubbles will be a golden color, then, they will gradually darken with more boiling. :0) let me know…ok :0)
oh and sorry for the delay in my reply, I just got back home. :0)

Hii Nina =) . I was just wondering if i can use any type of sugar for this?

  12. redfootwalking says:

    Hi there!
you can use grapefruit juice, orange juice, citric acid, lime juice or even apple cider vinegar…but, it’s going to be a little different to use…but, yes, you can use a lot of other citric juices in the same amount of the regular recipe. :0) takecare, and thanks!

  13. redfootwalking says:

    Hugs!!!
Your question makes sense…no problem. :0) Usually, for me, it’s about 3 weeks…but, I’m not very hairy…it will vary from person to person, but, you won’t have to sugar as often as it may seem. The hairs will grow back in and feel finer and softer than shaved hair. :0) take care dear and thank you for your patience with me, I have been all over the place running my daughters to and from day camps. :0) HUGS! :0)

Hi, I was just wondering what your personal experiences on sugaring with vinegar was? I don’t have any lemon juice, but I do have orange juice…it’s the kind in the carton. Would that work? Or should I just use vinegar?

  19. IAmTheBOMB21 says:

Hello there AshleyChakawri, thanks for getting in touch with me…I think you may have cooked the sugar a bit longer…but, great news…if it’s super hard as a rock, you may be able to soften a bit of it and remove it from the container and add a bit of water to possibly soften it (not easy)…or, you could try the “ball method” if the sugar is soften a bit and if you remove it from the jar, try rolling it into a ball.If that doesn’t work, let’s try to make a new batch. :0) let me know :0)

  24. AshleyChakawri says:

Hey Nina, how r u? I have a question, the minute it gets cold, its like candy.. very hard.. Do you know what i did wrong? Thanks so much X

  25. redfootwalking says:

Hello nekotali, thanks for watching my video! You may want to heat water on the stove in a sauce pan and once water is heated well, remove and place the container in a bowl and pour the hot water around the sides…allow to sit for 15 minutes…then, that should soften the waxd up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks so much!! :0) take care, Nina
