How do I get rid of dark spots on face after laser hair removal?

I’ve had laser hair removal on my face and now I’ve got a couple of dark spots. I THINK it’s post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Anyone know how to get rid of it or at least fade their appearance?

Follow these steps after laser hair removal

When you have had a laser hair session done, there are some simple steps you need to know so you are not surprised by some of the reactions on the skin, and so you can help make yourself as comfortable as possible, in as quick a manner as possible.

First of all: Following your laser hair removal session, you will most likely have a lot of questions for the clinic technician. Do not be afraid to ask them what you can do to make the entire process of healing the skin work faster for you. They are there to help and they will be happy to help answer the questions that you have about post laser hair removal treatment. If you notice any problems with your skin like infection, be sure to talk to your doctor.

Steps:

During the first month following your session, you will find that your hair falls out on its own and no new hair grows. The areas treated will begin to develop new hair and stubble within 20 days of your laser hair removal session. This is because hair re-growth occurs in cycles and it perfectly normal. It is the main reason why more than one session is needed. Over the next two months, keep out of the sun. If you are in the sun, you may cause dark or light spots to appear on the area treated by the laser. If you do go outside, make sure you have sunscreen on (SPF 30 plus) and have areas covered to limit damage to the skin. Do not scratch or pick at the area that has been treated, this will only cause problems on the skin. When you get the treatment done, you will notice redness and bumps on your skin. This will last about two hours and you will feel like the area treated has been sunburned. Again this will begin to disappear within a few days. One way you can alleviate the discomfort on the area treated is to put a cold ice pack on it on the first day. You can also use Aloe Vera gel, or any sunburn cream. If you had the laser hair removal done on the face, you can put makeup on almost immediately. If you do use makeup, make sure it is new makeup to prevent any sort of infection and make sure you have moisturizer under the makeup. The moisturizer will help your skin heal. Do not use tweezers or shaving on the area treated. This will only cause the results from the treatment to be less than what they can be. The hair will fall out on its own, it does not need your help to make it happen. After the laser hair session, you can shower but you should make sure that you gently wash with a mild soap and that you pat the ski, do not rub. If you had your underarms treated, do not put on deodorant for the first 24 hours at least.
